On September 3, 2026, Sarasota FAWL members and Board of Directors, our families, and representatives of our 2026-2027 annual sponsors spent an evening decorating the namesake sweet treats at the Cookie Cottage in the Gillespie Park neighborhood. At the event, Judge Jacqueline Steele, herself a former Sarasota FAWL member, administered the oath to formally install the individuals on the Sarasota Chapter’s 2026-2027 Board of Directors into their roles. Drinks and light bites were provided for the event and attendees socialized throughout the evening. Cathy VandeMheen, the Cookie Cottage’s owner taught attendees to use glaze-style icing to decorate sugar cookies. Sarasota FAWL President Amanda Davy observed, “The best part of the installation event at The Cookie Cottage was having the chapter all in one place, catching up and cheering each other on. That’s what FAWL Sarasota is at its heart – a community of women and allies who show up for one another. Thank you to everyone who came out and to our sponsors for making the evening possible.” (9/9/2026)
